Omran offices were one of several architectural firms participating in the open architectural competition of ASC (Alexandria sporting club). A competition requiring the redevelopment & design of the Children's main Playground that should take into consideration future expansions and developments, and be in parallel with most recent developments in fields of children play safety, functionality and modern cutting edge technologies. Recreate not replace .The Idea is based on redesigning the space Surrounding Building and Planning, Creating a lively Space Consisting of the Different Activities. The site is divided according to the playing space of the children, dividing into 3 zones according to children's different age groups. Concept of the Design is the rearrangement and defining of Children's Play Area, as well as increasing the overall used space by creating a sloped topography of two levels (1.5m below ground,) that acts a play space for children, and hence allowing for greater space provision for seating and Play areas. With an outstanding design that tackled many factors and approached the redevelopment with the philosophy of "Minimum Change with Maximum Efficiency" Omran's Competition Entry won first place.
