The contest held in July 2014, organized by the Investment and real estate developer Stanely, aimed to discover young talents and provide opportunities to enhance the architectural profession in the city of Alexandria. The challenge addressed in this competition was to introduce a new business hub in the heart of Fouad Street, a historic spine that represents the essence of Old Alexandria. Thus the design notion of this project was to respect the historical context of the district, which was done by countering the momentous setting with a corresponding yet modernistic architectural language represented in a minimalistic powerful iconic building. Furthermore, In order to extend the splendid past of the zone into the future, the building was designed not only to be a business center but also as a socio-cultural hub that revitalizes khedive's Ismail's economic and social vision of the city. This Echoed in the design of the hub as it held an elevated street that connects and integrates the surrounding social and cultural life into the core of the building creating a dynamic spirit. The project won 1st place in the competition where the Jury Panel was from the prestigious Alexandria University – Engineering Department and the team was honored and rewarded for their outstanding design and concept.
