Omran wins Hassan Fathy's Award
The Hassan Fathy award is organized by the Library of Alexandria, in collaboration with the architecture committee of the supreme council is one of the most prestigious in the Middle East. Each year the competition addresses different themes and recognizes exceptional designs that were highly influential. Omran Architects received recognition for its Pharos Island Development project under the theme title "Outstanding designs in urban and landscape projects". The project comprises the urban development of the Pharos Island including Qaeitbay plaza and neighboring region. The project excelled in developing the region with controlled intervention applying the less is more concept. Minimal articulations and controlled introduction of foreign materials guaranteed the designs efficiency. The urban plaza has been a destination for locals and tourists since 2007.
